Hello All,

I'am Jean-François (jeff) from Switzerland. I am new in this group and also new in "Overlanding".. But... Now I am asked to introduce myself within the welcome Forum. I will be 60 and I have been traveling all my life. I have been twice in South Africa and I really loved this country, this is why I came to this idea.. would it be possible to get there by my own, I mean by car from home? The answer is yes, but with all the consequences (includes many things... ). Having said that, I am working on that project over a year now. The preparation work is extremely high with all regards, it's an adventure on is own. I am planning to travel the west route. I am currently setting up the car... currently... I should say about a year of work. I'am currently working on the interior of the car (i.e. living space). I have done all by my self, a part of some purchased items I can't built, like a winch. I would be happy to exchange, and share experience...

I will be leaving, I hope in July 2022.

Jeff

Hi all!
We're Chris and Sara and we've been overlanding in a Sprinter van in North America for about 4 years now. In our next season we're planning to transition to a Toyota Tacoma and overland in Asia. We found this forum via Google and it's already been immensely helpful. Looking forward to learning from all you fellow overlanders and hopefully cross paths with a few of you one the road one day! :)

Hello overlanders, My name is Cy, but starting up as WTO overland (Wild Tartan Overland) originally from Scotland, but now living in the Czech Republic has been a few years since I was in the overland game, due to new family etc. But time has come to get back touring, with many future overland trips on the cards, but first I have to sort out the new project overland rig, just bought last week, a 2011 Discovery 4. I will post progress updates etc as the project moves forward and also once we are hitting the tracks and trails.
