Hi Barry

Welcome to the forum, we are planing on an african trip in late 2014, what are your plans, which places do you consider a must see / do?

Do you have a website detailing your travels?

Martin

Hello, I am from Germany, travel a lot, for 3 years with a 4x4 Mercedes Sprinter. The last trips led to Sweden, Morocco, Mauritania as well as to Central Asia in the Pamir and the TienShan mountains. Planned for 2016 is the Caucasus or if the position becomes worse in the east Turkey, Karelia / Russia.

Hi,
I'm Arvind from India, currently living in Bangalore. I like travelling by motorcycle and have done quite a few trips within the country. I hope one day to be able to overland to other countries on my motorbike.

WBN 324 Travel Radio.

I'm a long time female overlander, And I love it! I'm now in a position to share your stories on my network to inspire other to spread their wings. The station started as political talk radio and have now established 120K listener peak so far. But I'd like to move on and add travel to the brand.
Pop by and spread a little love. I'd love to get you on the radio! Particularly if you are still out on the road or track.

Hello Cheldon, did you take the Pamir highway allready?

My husband and I just finished a year and a half traveling in South America (Columbia/Ecuador/Peru/Paraguqy/Uruguay and Buenos Aires) in January 2020 and are back in Florida for a bit. We travel with a modified and rugged Chevy Tahoe, but while we can sleep in the car, we tend to use AirBnB's throughout the world since we're still working and need the space. The Tahoe has been a beast on the mountain roads in the Andes and has more room than the 4runner (my husband is 6'3" and it was tough to find an SUV long enough for him to sleep comfortably. We travel with two large dogs and they really add a lot of fun to the trip. They get us out walking and exploring every day. We hope for our next trip to be about three years traveling through Eastern and Western Europe (yes, we know the Schengen issues) with the dogs. We've been to many, many countries in Europe for regular vacations, but this will be our first extended stay longer than three weeks. At some point, we'll retire, but we love the travel/work balance. We're close to retirement age, but I can't see retiring. Being back in our house in the States is exhausting - there's always so many chores to be done and we hope to be on the road sooner rather than later. We absolutely love the nomadic lifestyle and miss it! We also love all the interesting people we meet along the road.

Hello, I am Andrew From Singapore and my dream is to drive from Singapore to the Silk Roads and explore as much as I can in my lifetime.
I am here to learn and understand more, please help me out here. Thank you, After covid19 is over, I wish to start my trip from Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. Thank you. I will be trading/ Selling my current car for a Toyota Fortuner on this trip.

Thank you

G'day All!
Boris here from NZ. We (My wife and I) have already completed a 5 month overland trip from Vladivostok in Russia to London via Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Lux, Belgium, France and finally UK. Once this Virus thing has worked itself out we are looking to do the Americas... South to North.

We are running a 1992 80 series Landcruiser.

Thanks for letting me join this group
As an old traveller hitch hiker I travelled some 90+ countries overland. In some by rental 4x4 or motorbike.
Right now no specific plans due to corona virus. A cruise trip from Iceland to Svalbard last week was cancelled due to Covid 19.
I guess I will find some inspiration here.

Sven

Hi, my wife and I + 3kids plan to go in Africa from France. All round Africa going from Marocco, all the west cost to South Africa then all the East cost to Egypt, Algeria. We are looking for a Man truck to do this journey.

Good day one and all!
It's a pleasure to introduce myself with 2 or 3 sentences.
I have crossed the South American continent ocean-to-ocean from Puerto Mont on the Pacific to San Antonio Oeste on the Atlantic - on foot.
Have done a lot of driving in Patagonia, where I have family.
Next up is to explore the north-west of Argentina for which I am looking to source a 4x4 Pickup with an accommodation cabin on the back.
Ideally one without Diesel Particle Filter as the diesel quality is often high sulphur and clogs up the DPF.
Regards
Christian

Hi guys!

Oana from Romania here. I'm a photographer, hiker, and hopefully sooner than later the happy owner of a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which I plan to turn into my mobile home and everyday ride. I'm excited to start traveling abroad more and my idea is to spend my summers up in northern Europe and my winters in more Mediterranean temperatures, of course when the Covid situation will allow. I'm also interested in finding more solo women overlanders to make sure I learn from them as much as possible before going on the road.

Nice to meet everyone!

Hello, I´m Vicente from Spain, preparing a trip around Africa. Last year 2019 I drove from Spain to Myanmar. Now I want to go down Africa by the west route to South Africa and go back to north by the east route. The idea is to begin next January but Covid has the last word. Many countries are closed by now. I will try to do so in 4 stages:
Spain - Senegal
Senegal - South Africa
South-Africa - Tanzania
Tanzania - Egypt

Nice to join that group.
Vicente

Thank you for accepting me here!
I and Niina are kind of first-time overlanders even though we've been practically living in Southern Africa (mostly in Namibia) for two years already. We have a project called Expedition Conservation (https://expeditionconservation.org) with which we're driving through Africa to help wildlife conservation. Conservation issues have always been really close to our hearts and now we've found a way we can help this important cause. We are planning to drive first up on the East coast of Africa and then back down, through Zambia to briefly stop by in Namibia, and then upwards the West cost, thus avoiding Egypt (for it being too expensive for us).

We have a 2009 Land Rover Defender 110 2.4l Puma as a vehicle and so far it has already taken us more than 20 000 km zigzagging through Namibia, Botswana, South Africa and Lesotho.
We should've already been in Tanzania at the moment, but because of the Covid-19 outbreak we have also been on a mandatory break from overlanding and we're eagerly waiting for when we can continue on our odyssey for wildlife!

Happy to have found this community of overlanders through Facebook and Instagram! :)

Hello All,
Ed here from Dallas, TX. I'm a long time camper, but new to Overlanding. We just purchased a 2020 Gladiator Rubicon, and it's currently receiving a few upgrades. I'm hoping to hear from some semi-close overlanders that can recommend a get-a-way (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado).

TIA...
