Up for sale is a mint-condition unicorn of a truck. We are located in NE Oregon. It's been very cold and I haven't had a chance to get it washed but I will post updated pictures as soon as I do. I figured I might as well get the ad out into the universe while I have some time. I can get more details for the post, better pictures, and more info if you have questions later this week. I bought this truck about 5 months ago with the intention of keeping it until the wheels fall off. Unfortunately, my wife has decided she officially hates driving a standard diesel. We had plans to put a flatbed on this and use it for camping and road trips as a family. Plans have changed some, and we need to sell this truck in order to find an auto-gas (possibly diesel) alternative. Happy wife, happy life I guess… In no way am I marking this truck up, I am only trying to avoid taking a huge loss on it. Therefore I am reasonably negotiable. I'm sure they are out there, but when I had been looking, I haven't seen many of these trucks, low miles, in this condition, selling for much, if any less. As far as my experience in looking for one went, these are very hard to find in good condition. The Interior and exterior are essentially 9/10. No major scratches, scuffs, tears in upholstery, etc. Nearly rust-free PNW l truck. Never abused. Haven’t towed much. I hadn’t got far enough for ‘off-road modifications,’ but there have been a number of aftermarket upgrades with longevity and economical performance in mind. Some of these updates were done just prior to my purchase of the truck, nearly all done in the last 2-3k miles. I bought it from a couple going through a divorce. I am the 3rd owner. The details in no particular order, as well as I can recall, are as follows:
2006 Dodge Ram slate grey SLT Megacab
-5.9 I6 HO Cummins TD engine (pre-def, emissions, etc, exempt from all of that)
-98,XXX miles
-6spd manual G56 Transmission
-South Bend Dual Disk Clutch
-Electronic Transfer case
-3.73 factory gears
-Factory 34 gal tank
(I have the full factory build sheet if interested)
-HID aftermarket headlights
-S&B Air intake
-Banks Monster Ram Intake
-Turbo back 5” (?) B&D 2pc exhaust
-EFI Live SOTF Tuner always ran in eco-mode.
-Complete rebuild of steering components, Redhead Steering box, new steering stabilizers, etc
-Brakes are like new
-All fluids like new
-Napa Legend Batteries
-BFG KO2 35s on 17” Raceline (mock) Beadlock rims, bronze, with less than 1000 miles on the wheels and tires
-Kenwood dual DIN touchscreen display compatible with Apple CarPlay etc
-Backup camera
-10” JBL subwoofer and amp
-Trailer brake
-LineX Bedliner
-Window rain guards
-Heater, AC and blender doors were serviced and replaced as needed by the dealership.
Asking $47,500
I realize the price is high compared to what newer trucks are selling for but this is a perfect, bombproof, reliable platform available in the US for overlanding, off-road, camping, road trips (especially if you have a family, the megacab is very nice), towing, hauling, whatever your needs are. This particular truck is very hard to find in this kind of condition with less than 100k miles on it.
Clean title in hand, cash preferred but happy to work with you and your bank if needed, please feel free to ask questions or send a reasonable offer. Please save the haggling and petty comments for another time. As I said, we’re just trying to recoup some of our investment for a truck better suited to our needs right now. Thanks for looking. Don't hesitate to send questions and reasonable offers.
I really hope this can go to someone who will appreciate this truck and use the heck out of it. I really do hate to sell it after all the time I spent looking for this truck. But my wife will spend more time than she originally anticipated (staying home with the kids now) driving it and as mentioned earlier in the post, has decided she hates driving a standard diesel truck. That's pretty much the only reason we're selling it. I would consider trade or partial trade for an auto version of essentially the same truck, a newer Ram 2500 or 3500 Hemi, possibly a newer (~2018) Tundra but I am not sure it could handle the payload of a family and a flatbed camper. Any and all advice on an alternative is much appreciated. I have been a long-time reader of this forum and haven't posted much. I appreciate all the value and insight everyone here has provided.
It will be thoroughly cleaned/detailed and run through by our local diesel mechanic prior to purchase.
