Planning an African adventure

Hi everyone,

We have a kitted land cruiser which we bought second hand and have so far driven both South African coasts and taken it to Namibia. We were meant to be in Namibia again right now but that trip will have to wait. Meanwhile we are looking at planning a trip from Cape Town up the West African coast to Morocco and in to Europe so any advice out there would be really welcome.

For the West Coast it's definitely worth reading up on visas, and the current status of the borders, we will be posting a thread in this forum shortly, with the latest border status for each country.

Are you planning on obtaining a carnet? or are you going to try and travel north without one?

Hi,
thanks yes info on borders and visas etc. we need to get our heads around. Most people seem to go the opposite direction so are getting visas in the country before which if we are heading north wont be possible. I thought we would have to get a carnet, I presume we can do that in Cape Town ??
