Hello all,
I'm planning an overland trip in a Land Rover Defender from the UK to Kenya. I'm planning on leaving mid Feb 2014 - however my travel companion has pulled out! So I'm wondering if anybody is interested in coming along - the car is well prepared by myself with camping and cooking facilities as-well as being mechanically very sound. And there is a spare seat!
Rough route would be through Europe to Turkey, ferry across the med to Egypt then through N Sudan and Ethiopia before arriving in Kenya. I'd expect to take about 8 weeks - but I'm flexible to some extent with timings. As for the route I'm very flexible and will happily go to places your interested in etc. I'm not expecting anything finical towards the car or travel kit - just your half of travel expenses; visas, food etc. If anybody is interested give me a shout and we can discuss further
Also, considering the trouble in N. Africa a 2nd option would be shipping the car to South Africa and driving up! So, I've an open mind of how to get to Nairobi - just lacking somebody to go with and it would be a same to cancel. So if anybody has any suggestions they would be much appreciated. Thanks,
Jack.
