I’ve been doing some wiring and light gear mounting on my BMW for overlanding trips, and I keep relying on cable ties for cable management and securing small accessories. They’re super convenient, but I’m curious how others in the BMW overlanding community are using them long-term.
Are standard zip ties reliable enough for vibration-heavy off-road riding, or do you prefer heavy-duty, UV-resistant, or reusable versions?
Also, how do you route and secure wiring cleanly on BMW bikes or rigs without risking chafing or heat damage on long trips?
Would love to hear your setups, tips, and any better alternatives you’ve found for trail use.
