Hi fellow members,
Pleasure to find this forum and become part of this community. My name is Derek, I am 31 and I live in Amsterdam. End of this month my contract will end and after two more weeks of prep I will leave for Africa. 2.5 month ago I came up with this idea and have been on a mission sorting everything out since then.
I have some experience riding but I am actually getting my license right now. I will be driving a CRF300 that I will be able to pick up beginning of October after getting my license.
Rough plan right now is the following:
1. Drive quick quick to Greece and dodge bad weather in Europe
2. Ship my bike and fly myself to Israel
3. Drive trough Jorden/Saudi Arabia
4. Cross the red sea to Sudan
5. Go to Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Malawi
6. And then either via Zambia and Namibia to SA or on the Mozambique Zimbabwe side
Looking forward to engage here when I am in trouble or to share my own experiences.
