Hey!

Currently planning an overland trip from the UK driving down the west coast of Africa into South Africa. I am busy prepping my vehicle at the moment, planning a route and trying to think of all the small things which there is a lot of!

Trying to decide on the route, racking my brain and the internet to try and find a decent safe-ish route through the west coast.

Any advice would be great!

Thanks Steven

@Steven , Welcome to the forum..

What vehicle are you driving?

Quite a few people in our FB Group are travelling west africa at the moment they may be able to advise on the route options.

Hopefully we will have our new Overlanding resource Overlanding Association up and running before you head off which should also help with any information you may need.

Good luck with build and safe travels

Hi Steve

I'm doing my vehicle prep at the moment as well. I have been looking quite a lot in too the East route just because we want to go to Kenya and Tanzania on our why down. Trying to cross central Africa from the West route is not safe at the moment.

So our route will be Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, (maybe Uganda) Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa

When are you going we are planning to leave mid November. When are you planning on going?
