A nationwide State of Emergency was declared on 2 November. Travellers should carry copies of ID, comply with instructions from the authorities and avoid gatherings. The FCDO now advise against all travel to Amhara Regional State. A state of emergency has been declared across Amhara with a 20:00 curfew. Fighting is reported in eastern Amhara and western Afar – the FCDO now advise against all travel to western parts of Afar Regional State ('Summary' and 'Safety & Security' sections)
