Hello,
I am planning a trip from Cape Town to Cairo. I will airfreight my motorbike, a KTM 640 Adventure, from Italy to Cape and start my travel. The basic idea is to split the travel into several trips, two travels per year. I will leave the motorbike in a safe place in the country where I will end each trip until the next trip. It will take three year to arrive as will travel three weeks in August and two weeks in April or May. So 6 trips for 12.000 Km.
The first trip is Cape town-Windhoek-Gaborone. I will start on the 7th of August from Cape Town and after formalities with the Customs I will begin the travel toward the Fish River Canyon in Namibia.
I will continue North stopping in the main attraction of Southern Namibia and once in Windhoek I will turn Eastward heading Botswana. I will visit the West part of the country and than I will cross the Kalahari Southward to hit Gaborone on the 26th of August. In Gaborone I will park my bike and take an airplane to Paris, where I live.
I will start the adventure alone but I count to join other travellers like me during the trip.
Anyone doing the same route at that time?
Michele
