Hi everyone, and thanks for welcoming me to the community.
I am a dual citizen with Argentina and the USA, and for many years now have wanted to drive a classic Fiat 600 to the United States, where I was raised for most of my life.

I am currently in the process of buying the car, a real beauty and a truly original, classic car. I am already familiar with all the requirements of importation to USA for the EPA, NHTSA and CBP. I feel confident that I have all those aspects well under control, especially as it is easier in this case because the vehicle is well over 25 years old, original and unmodified, and therefore fully eligible for all exemptions.

I am really looking forward to the trip, and I know that in this vehicle I will be presented with lots of challenges regarding good route-finding (and choosing), as well as mechanical troubleshooting and problem solving under potentially higher-than-normal stress levels. It will be part of the adventure. That being said, one of my main goals of the trip is really just to get the car to The States, so I look forward to having this forum and the FB pages as information and logistics sources. I have been fortunate enough to spend a great deal of time in Latin America throughout my life, and I know I will always be returning, so this trip is mostly about me having an adventure and importing a classic piece of Argentina that I love so much in to the United States to enjoy and share with people there.

As such, I have begun researching shipping options from Cartagena to Colon, which seems like it will be one of the greater challenges and certainly the most costly part of my trip. I will be posting my questions regarding that in the appropriate forum thread.

Glad to be a part of the overlanding community! Here's to big trips in small cars.
